Our Love Story

In February 2020, Chris and Gina matched on a dating app, within each other’s location radius, but separated by the Long Island Sound.  17 months and a pandemic came and went before having the opportunity to meet in person for the first time. It was challenging but was no match for the love and connection they felt.

The stars finally aligned one July night in 2021. On Gina’s drive home from visiting her sister in Boston, her route back to Long Island happened to pass through Chris’ Connecticut neighborhood. In a quick text from Gina letting him know she had reached her first rest stop, came a photo of the outside of his apartment building. In a panic, Chris tidied up the apartment the best he could and lit a candle (for good measure). Chris hurried outside and saw Gina standing there. After a long year and half they were finally face to face. The connection they felt was instant and they knew this could be something special. That night sparked more visits back and forth from Connecticut and Long Island. Countless weekends driving a total of 4-5 hours round trip to see one another, train rides, late nights, or early mornings on the road. Whatever the case may have been, they were committed to making it work. Nearly 4 years have passed since that July night back in 2021, and now they share their lives in Connecticut.

Chris took Gina to Newport, Rhode Island to celebrate their 3rd anniversary.  On July 27th, 2024 right before setting sail on a sunset cruise, Chris took a detour to a beautiful boardwalk overlooking the harbor. That’s when he got down on one knee and asked Gina to spend the rest of her life with him. Everything they had experienced and been through, came together for that one perfect moment. Now as they count down the days till they’re united as one through marriage, they will look to create more of those perfect moments hand-in-hand till the end of time.
